仮定法過去(現在の事実の反対仮定) I wish…~であればよいのに
 I don’t speak English.  ⇒  I wish I spoke English
 I can’t play tennis.       ⇒   I wish I could play tennis.

I wish i could speak many languages.

Scene 2   What would Meg do if she were a Japanese student?

仮定法過去(現在の事実の反対仮定) If + 主語 + were (be動詞の過去形)…   ,  もし~であれば、~だろう

If I were in Kyoto, I could see many wonderful shrines and temples.

仮定法現在(未来の事実の仮定)

If it rains tomorrow, I will watch TV at home.

If I were rich, I would donate more money.
If it were sunny today, we would clean the park.
If tomorrow is Sunday, I can keep reading this book.
