Let’s talk 1

Part 1

Diana Nelson ・・・She is a new assistant language teacher( ALT ) .  She started teaching in April this year.
Shibata Tomoya ・・・He is the third year student at Sakura Junior High School.
Tomoya comes on Diana on the way to the classroom.

Tomoya:        Excuse me, but are you Ms. Nelson?
Ms. Nelson:  Yes. I’m Diana Nelson.
Tomoya:       I’m Shibata Tomoya. Welcome to our school, Ms. Nelson.
Ms. Nelson:  Thank you, Tomoya. Are you in the third year?
Tomoya:       Yes, I’m in Class 3C. We’ve been looking forward to having you.
Ms. Nelson:  I’m happy to hear that. Let’s go to the classroom together.
Tomoya:       Yes, let’s. thank you.

Part 2
There are three exchange students and two students in Kyoto University.

S: We’re happy to have you here.
C: I’ve long wanted to come to Japan, so I’m glad to be here now.
D: This the first time talking with people around the world, so I’m a little nervous.
E: I would like to visit Kyoto during my stay, so may I have some information about shrines and temples here?
C: Just feel free to ask us if you have any questions.
R: I hope you all will have a good time in Japan.

Part 3
Ann( left ) and Mika ( right ) come to Kanda Festival in Tokyo.


M: Have you ever visited any Japanese festivals, Ann?
A : Yes, I have.  I saw  Gion Festival Last year.  It was so beautiful and gorgeous that Yamahoko Junko 8( procession of Gion Feastival Floats ) went along the street north from Shijo-dori  Street  to Oike-dori Street.
M: Kanda Festival and Gion Festival are two of the biggest festivals in Japan. The other festival is Tenjin Festival in Osaka.
A: Well, I would like go to Tenjin Festival someday.
M: Me, too.

Part 4
Rian (left), Doris (center) and Kate (right) are looking for Kinkaku-ji Temple. They met at Fushimi Inari Taisha just five minutes ago.

R: Is this your first time visiting Japan, Doris and Kate?
D: I’ve been to Japan three times before, but  Kyoto is my first time.
K: I came to Japan as an exchange student in March and live here now. Is there anything special to do here?
R: I’ve long wanted to have Japanese dish, kaiseki ryori, so Would you tell me good restaurants near here?
D: I’d love to experience tea ceremony, so just let me know where you can do it.
K: OK! I have some information about that. So I can tell you them later. Now let’s go to Kinkaku Ji Temple.
