History of Clocks
❶When we need to see the time, we look at clocks and watches.

Today we can check the time very easily.
今日 私たちはとてもたやすく時間を調べることが出来ます。
However, it was not so easy long time ago.
しかし、昔はそんなに簡単ではなかったのです。

About 3,500 years ago, Egyptians started to measure time without it.

The pots had tiny holes in them.

水が少しずつ減りました。
The lines in the pots told them the time.

About 6,000years ago, Egyptians put (sticks) in the ground, and (the shadows) told them the time.

About 1,500years ago, People burned (candles) and saw the time by the lines on them.
About 700years ago, At first, people used (weights) to power mechanical clocks.
About 6,000years ago, People used (springs) to power the clocks. They began to carry (watches).
